Ever since April of this year, Amanda Bynes has encountered trouble with the law many times. The 26-year-old has spiraled out of control, with a series of law infractions.
Although she declared her acting retirement in 2010, the former Nickelodeon star is still constantly in front of the cameras. At 3 a.m. on April 6, Bynes was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge for trying to cut off a police officer. Four days after this incident, Bynes was involved in a hit-and-run on the Los Angeles Freeway. While driving a rental car, Bynes crashed into another vehicle and fled the scene shortly after.
Bynes acquired two more charges throughout the rest of April. On April 13, she backed up over a curb while texting and incurred minor charges. Three days later, Bynes performed a three-point turn in the middle of a busy West Hollywood street.
On May 5, Bynes committed a second hit-and-run, sideswiping a truck in Los Angeles and continuing to drive. The truck driver phoned the police, and a police helicopter located Bynes at a nearby gas station. Fortunately for Bynes, the damage to the truck was minor, so no charges were incurred.
From May to August, Bynes committed many more small driving infractions. Her license was finally suspended on September 6. However, this did not stop the retired actress from smoking marijuana in her car while driving on September 11. Her car was impounded for driving with a suspended license on September 16 in Burbank, California.
Aside from Bynes’ many driving incidents, she continues to create mayhem outside of motor vehicles.
On September 15, she locked herself in the fitting room of Los Angeles boutique “Kin.” According to shopping attendants, Bynes was in the fitting room for an hour and 45 minutes before attempting to leave the store with a bikini on underneath her clothing.
Social media is comparing Bynes’ behavior to that of Lindsay Lohan, also 26-years-old. Lohan feels the same way, tweeting, “Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had NO punishment so far.”
Bynes not only disagrees with her charges, but does not think she has done anything wrong. “I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me… I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false,” she tweeted.
Many online gossip sources say Bynes checked into rehab last week, though it appears she is still in Los Angeles, living her life as always.
