Idiots on planes

by ALISON LEVIER Section Editor

An Idaho man, Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, is being charged with assault for yelling racial slurs, then striking a baby in the face, causing the baby to bleed.

On a Delta Airlines flight, baby Jonah was crying due to altitude changes on the final descent of flight 721. Hundley apparently “asked the mother to quiet the child,” before losing his temper, yelling “shut that (N-word) baby up,” and slapping the 19-month-old. Baby Jonah received a scratch below his right eye.

People are claiming that this man’s actions do not make him a racist, and it was an apparently difficult decision to fire this man from his job.

Okay, WHAT? Yelling any racial slur, whether it be what Hundley said or something totally different, makes you somewhat of a racist. No, it makes you a huge racist. AND SLAPPING A BABY? What is wrong with people? Why would anyone think that that was an okay thing to do?

“Wait, some guy punched a baby? Are you kidding me? What is wrong with people?” said junior Gabrielle Tumminia.

You would think that this old bat, Hundley, would have been taught a lesson or two on not punching babies in the face at his ripe age of 60. What a moron. He was just so angry at this crying baby that he needed to shut it up. Newsflash, and I know this may come as a huge surprise, but babies tend to cry. Want to know why? Because they’re babies. It is what they do. If you want to be on a flight where you can guarantee that you will not have to sit next to a crying baby, buy your own private jet, or at least pay the extra money and sit in first class.

“I seriously don’t even know what to say about this. What is wrong with this man?” said junior Brianna Campanaro.

It is so unfathomable to me that this happened. Allegedly, our good friend only had one alcoholic beverage on this flight. Yeah, I am so sure. If it is true that he only had one drink, and ended up doing this to this poor child, Hundley is obviously mentally unstable and needs to be locked up.
