After 10 years of waiting, the infamous show “Zoey 101” returned to tell us what was said in the time capsule Zoey left for Chase in “What did Zoey say?”
Throughout the beloved Nickelodeon show, Chase Mathews (Sean Flynn) had an undying love for Zoey Brooks (Jamie Lynn Spears).
Tragically, the final season of “Zoey 101” ended when Zoey finally found out Chase liked her. Even though Chase came back in the final episode to share a kiss with Zoey, it still majorly hurt the fans.
So here’s how it all started: On September 18, 2005, Zoey made a DVD telling her friends how much they all meant to her. Since everyone knew that Chase was obviously in love with Zoey, he was dying to see if her feelings were the same as his. He started to dig up the time capsule in the episode, but stopped when he realized it would not be right.
Well, the 10 years are finally up, and Dan Schneider finally revealed what Zoey said. The episode starred Flynn as Chase and Christopher Massey as his best friend Michael.
Schneider released a video on Youtube on September 18, 2015 that will complete the lives of the “Zoey 101” fandom. The video premiered on TeenNick Friday night before going viral online.
“I never break a promise!” Schneider wrote after teasing the video through a series of tweets. “I love you guys. I love ‘Zoey 101’. This is for THE FANS.”
Unfortunately, the 5-minute clip did not show what everyone had hoped to see – Zoey and Chase meeting again. All we got was Michael reading to Chase what Zoey said in her video.
“I feel like it was very nostalgic as we were waiting a long time for it. The show was pretty short after waiting 10 years for the episode, so I was expecting much more,” says sophomore Cherlean Darko.
The video started in a restaurant where Chase was about to propose to his girlfriend Alyssa (Jamie Snow). Just as Chase went down on one knee and asked Alyssa for her hand, Michael came running through the door with a DVD in his hand.
He claimed he had gone to California, went to Pacific Coast Academy, and dug up the time capsule. That is when he read Chase what was in the video. At this point, Chase had already disregarded Alyssa.

The possibility for a continuation where Chase can finally confess his love for Zoey and they can live happily ever after is completely attainable as the clip ended with a “to be continued.” Hopefully, part two will include Spears.
“I think that Zoey might have lost feelings since it has been 10 years, but at the same time, since it’s just a show, they will probably end up getting together again,” says freshman Amaka Onukwugha.
